Man with snatched 300 PVC, others Arrested by Police in Ebonyi

 
Police officials in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital have arrested a middle aged man, Ozemena Odeta and some other persons in the Ekawoke Ward in Ikwo local government area of the state.

Odeta was caught distributing Permanent Voters Cards, PVC allegedly snatched from Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC staff during the last distribution exercise in the area.
The state Deputy Coordinator, Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organization, Ambassador Franklin Ogbuewu who addressed journalists after he was accredited disclosed that the suspect fled the community after stealing the PVCs only to appear during the election to distribute the cards to those who would accepted to vote for his chosen candidate.

According to Ogbuewu, the reports reaching him from different parts of the state has it that the Card Reader failed to authenticate most voters, a Vanguard report stated.
“I want to inform you that the person that snatched about 300 PVCs from INEC staff during the last distribution exercise has been arrested by the police; you see immediately after the theft, the guy disappeared from the community but resurfaced during the election.”
Confirming the incident, a police source whose identity was not disclosed said investigations have commenced.
