Fani-Kayode denies writing ‘divisive’ letter to Apostle Johnson Suleman from EFCC custody

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has denied reports that he sent a message to Christians and Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International.

A statement by Jude Ndukwe, his media aide, said: “This is to inform the general public that the purported message making the rounds that Chief Femi Fani-Kayode wrote a certain message to Christians and Apostle Suleiman from detention is not true.

Ikpeazu insists "I am still Governor of Abia State"

 
Embattled Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has reacted to the issuance of Certificate of Return to Mr. Uche Ogah by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as governor of Abia State.

A statement he personally signed on Thursday said it was said that INEC carried out the issuance, “despite dependency of a notice of appeal and motion on stay of the orders made by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja”.

"The Concubine" Author, Elechi Amadi Dies...

 
Renowned Nigerian author Elechi Amadi has died of an undisclosed illness at the age of 82.

He was most famous for The Concubine, which pictured the culture of marriage and forbidden traditions and was originally published in 1966. 

The Concubine remains a recommended text in schools across Africa. 

Court Dismisses Certificate Suit filed against President Buhari

 

The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a suit which called President Muhammadu Buhari’s academic qualifications into question.

The case was dismissed by presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Justice Ademola took the decision after the applicant, Nnamdi Nwokocha- Ahaaiwe filed a motion for discontinuance.

I reached out to one of the student of Mandela Washington who is part of the team from Nigeria. She's still in shock but managed to send in a witness report from one of the group that went hiking with late John Paul.
 
Incase you missed out, Nigeria and the US mission on Monday mourned the loss of Mandela Washington Fellow, John Paul Usman, who died on June 25 in an accident while hiking near Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

One of the hikers Nzuzi, a South African fellow who was with him that fateful day narrates the incident that led to John Paul's death, read his words:

41 dead and more than 230 injured in Istanbul Ataturk airport attack

Istanbul's governor confirmed 41 people had died and 239 were injured in the attack. At least 13 of those killed were of foreign or dual nationality. Some 109 of those hurt have now been discharged from hospital.
One Iranian and one Ukrainian were confirmed dead.

 A gun and bomb attack on Istanbul's Ataturk airport has killed 41 people, at least 13 of them foreigners, and injured more than 230, according to reports.

Three attackers arrived in a taxi and began firing at the terminal entrance late on Tuesday. They blew themselves up after police fired back.
