UDP alleges PDP has paid some huge money to rig Abia election

PDP1
Uche Chuta aide to the UDP governorship candidate in Abia state, has alleged that the ruling party in the state, the PDP, has concluded plans to rig Saturday’s elections in their favour.
A source alleged that “an insane amount of money has been given to the INEC REC, Prof. Jacob Jatau, and others in Abuja.

“These people claim to be in good books of Prof. Jega, so they can announce a winner without much scrutiny from the INEC chairman.
“On Saturday, they are going to announce the winner of the elections as PDP. The reasoning they shall use is that all the other political parties merged and supported PDP including APGA.
“Parties like UDP will be said to be insignificant and will be scorned if they complain. Same treatment with Alex Otti as they have already prepared the script to explain his own loss.”
Efforts to reach Prof. Jatau, or INEC in Abia for a reaction proved futile as calls to his secretary, Mr. Mbanaja went unanswered.
However, in his reaction, a PDP organiser who did not want to be named, said that he was confident that the party’s candidate, Okezue Ikpeazu will win on Saturday.
“I will not tell you why I am so confident since you Lagos press are behind Otti,” he said, “but I can tell you without a doubt that Saturday’s result will favour us.”
Yesterday, a faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in the state announced that it had dumped the party’s governorship candidate and former MD of Diamond Bank, Dr Alex Otti, and adopted the PDP candidate Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
