After six years, President Goodluck Jonathan and his family members have started moving their personal effects out of the Presidential Villa. The president was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari, in the presidential election of Saturday, March 28.
According to Punch newspapers, several buses loaded with travel bags were spotted moving out of the President’s official residence on Friday.
The report stated that “one of the buses, a white 18-seater Hiace bus marked PF 6244 AL, was still being loaded with bags of different shades and sizes at the time of filing this report.”
It is also believed that the early removal of the personal belongings of Jonathan’s family may possibly be due to a need for the renovation of the residence ahead of the May 29 handover date.
