The Presidency is interested in knowing how the recording of the telephone conversation between President Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, was leaked to the media.

The President had telephoned Buhari to congratulate him on his victory at the presidential election.
The Presidency has reportedly commenced a discreet investigation into how the call which was made on Tuesday, March 31, got to become public property.

The audio of the conversation surfaced on the internet on Thursday, via a Twitter handle- @EveryNigerian.

A government official revealed to Punch newspapers on Friday that the Presidency was embarrassed by the leaked recording. The source stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the leak and that the first step was to determine whether the recording was leaked from the Presidency or was made public from the President-elect’s camp.
“Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President’s telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency’s) end is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated,” the source said.
