EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Death trap! State of Owerri-Port Harcourt express road between Umuapu/Umuagwo in Imo State

Few months ago before the just concluded 2015 Elections, there were Arab Contractors equipment lined up in this area, maintenance work was ongoing in full gear. Infact the maintenance work was often time referenced during campaign. Fast foward few days back this August, these photos shows the state of the very busy express road that connects Rivers state and Owerri, Imo state.

All the equipment and construction workers have dissapeared! It brings me to this question for Imo State Governor, Awele Rochas...was the contract not awarded in the first place? More photos after the cut...

Its very disheartening the level of under development in Imo State, after 4 years in Office, Imo Government cannot boost of one completed project like the Health Centres and Road maintenance work they embarked on.

Commuters should use alternate routes if they do not want to get stuck in the mud...its such a pity!

I had a horrible experience on that road last year, right in from of me a truck carrying a container fell on a shop, I had to drive quickly away cos I can't stand gory sites.
