President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Ameachi, for about an hour at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The meeting was held behind closed doors.
Amaechi’s visit came barely 24 hours after the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) commenced his probe alongside eight other former governors.
Ameachi arrived the presidential villa at 1:42p.m. and walked straight to the President’s Office where the meeting was held.
Amaechi visit may not be unconnected with the recent appointments made by President Buhari.
Amaechi’s name had severally been mentioned as one of those that was being considered for either the position of Chief of Staff (CoS) or Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
At the end of the meeting, the former governor refused to speak to State House Correspondents who sought to know the purpose of his visit.
