Buhari denied Access For Kaduna Rally and what Next?

Now that the Kaduna state government has refused to allow Muhammadu Buhari the usage of the Murtala Mohammed Square for his North-West Zonal rally, it remains to be seen what becomes of the proposed gathering.

Preparations were already in top gear for the rally which was billed to hold today, Wednesday, March 11, till it hit a snafu.
According to the APC, the government of the state has informed its zonal office of its intention to decline permission to use the facility.

The opposition party also accused the state’s administration of preparing the ground for crisis ahead of the elections in the state.
Spokesperson of the APC Campaign Council in the state, Samuel Aruwan, communicated the development at a media briefing saying those at the forefront of hatred and disaffection in the state were in the government.

Aruwan added that the state government was not interested in ensuring peace and had simply been paying lip service to the issue. He said:
“As a movement of the people, the APC is resolutely committed to free, fair and credible elections, held in an atmosphere of peace.”

“The PDP government of Kaduna State is actively stoking religious and ethnic tension. Along with its affiliates and supporters, the PDP has been trying to whip up religious resentments against General Muhammadu Buhari and Mallam Nasir el-Rufai (the APC governorship candidate).”
