[GRAPHIC] Suspected Robber gets Jungle Justice after being aprehended by Mob in Delta

A suspected armed robber has been set ablaze by a mob in the Emede community of Isoko-South area of Delta State.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspect and four other members of his gang had on Sunday invaded the home of a notable politician along the Ughelli Expressway.

Our correspondent gathered that a crowd gathered and mobilised against the robbers, giving them a hot chase.

While other members of the gang escaped, the suspect was caught.

He was said to have been taken to a roadside where tyres were put round his body. The mob then set him ablaze.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Celestina Kalu, confirmed the incident.

In a text message to our correspondent, Kalu said, “At about 12.30pm, armed bandits blocked a bush path along the Emede community, terrorising marketers.

“A vigilance group and some of the villagers were able to apprehend one of them and set him ablaze. The mob has since dispersed. No arrest has been made and the case is under investigation.”
