Nigeria has suffered one of its worst fall in history in the latest FIFA ranking released this morning.
After failing to qualify for the last three major tournaments in
Africa, Nigeria now ranks 70th in world football, dropping nine places
in the latest FIFA ranking. The Super Eagles also now ranks an all time
low 17th in Africa.
The Super Eagles who are set to name a new coach next week has been
grouped alongside Zambia, Algeria and Cameroon in the 2018 World Cup
qualifier set to hold in Russia.
In other rankings, Argentina remains world number one while Belgium
remains number two despite their ineffectual performance at the Euros
this summer. Algeria also remains number one in Africa with Cotedivoire,
Ghana, Senegal and Egypt completing the top five in Africa.
