The acrimony between President Goodluck
Jonathan and Rotimi Amaechi is well documented, however, no one has been
able to succinctly ascertain the root cause of their fight until now.
According to Amaechi, the refusal of the outgoing President to repay
over N105 billion spent by the Rivers state governor on the repairs of
federal roads in the state was the major cause of their disagreement.
Ameachi made the revelation in Abuja after the presentation of a documentary titled: Dynamic of Change, which chronicled the achievements of his administration in the last eight years.
According to the governor, with three days to the end of the life of Jonathan’s administration, the money was yet to be repaid. The governor also added that his rift with Jonathan got
deeper escalated following the unnecessary meddlesomeness of the First
Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, in the affairs of Rivers State.
Amaechi accused Patience Jonathan of using the Police, military and other security agencies to achieve her aim in the state. According to him, his resistance to her antics increased his disagreement with the President.
