Port Harcourt Refinery set to commence operations end of June

The general managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Joseph Dawah has disclosed that Port Harcourt refinery will commence operations in July at 80 per cent capacity.
According to him, the development will also contribute five million litres of petrol daily. Dawah made this disclosure at a public function on Thursday.

Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) Limited, had earlier unveiled plans to embark on rehabilitation project to meet local needs of petroleum product in Nigeria.

Recall that the Managing Director of the company, Dr. Bafred Audu Enjugu, said last week in Port Harcourt, that the management of the company, with support of the parent Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), embarked on rehabilitation of Area I which hosts the crude distillation unit (CDU) to pave way for simultaneous operations and upgrade of other units ahead of July when crude supply to the plant is expected to be restored.
