This is the haunting image of a murdered seven-month-old baby who is becoming a symbol of why action is needed on gang violence.
The
child was killed alongside his parents, slaughtered in Mexico, with the
picture being likened to that of the three-year-old Syrian toddler Aylan Kurdi whose body washed up on a Greek beach after his family tried to flee Islamic State.
Identified
as Marcos Miguel Pano Colón, he was being held by his father Juan
Alberto Pano Ramos, 24, who was accompanied with his mother Alba Isabel
Colón, 17.
The trio were killed in the city of Pinotepa Nacional
on Friday night, and since then disturbing images of their bodies have
been circulating on Facebook.
Social media users are demanding that the image should force authorities to end the rampant gang violence across Mexico once and for all.
A Facebook group has been set up demanding action.
One post read: "This picture is running all around the world.
"It is just like the Syrian boy.
