How Jealous Lover Sets Heavily Pregnant Woman on Fire and Left Her to Die on the Street

A cruel jealous lover has set his pregnant Italian lover ablaze and left her to die on the street. The woman identified as Carla Caiazzo, 38,  suffered serious burns and has been given just a 50% chance of survival following the attack near the city of Naples.

She was rushed to hospital where doctors gave her an emergency caesarean to save her baby’s life and treated for third degree burns on more than half of her body.

Ms Caiazzo was a beauty therapist before the incident. The identify of her attacker has been revealed. The suspect is a wealthy property heir boyfriend Paolo Pietropaolo, 40.

The motive for the wicked act might have been because of the fact that the woman hinted that she wants to dump him. Although Ms Caiazzo’s chances of survival are hanging in the balance, her baby girl was described as healthy - albeit weighing just 4.8lbs.

Ms Caiazzo herself faces years of reconstructive surgery on her severely burned face if she survives.

Witnesses said Pietropaolo first punched his pregnant girlfriend in the face outside the villa he shared with his mother, according to The Times. He then retrieved a bottle of industrial-strength alcohol, poured it over her head and set her alight before driving off at high speed.
