President Buhari Resumes Office, Presidency releases Statement

 
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, formally resumed work in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after a six-day vacation. Buhari had returned to the country on Wednesday from London where he spent the short vacation that started on Friday last week.

Buhari  had written the National Assembly, asking Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to act in his absence.


Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, earlier today, issued a statement announcing the President’s resumption.

Adesina noted that Buhari had since written the National Assembly again to inform the lawmakers of his resumption.

The three-paragraph statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday resumed work at the State House in Abuja after a 6-day vacation.

“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has sent a formal notice of his resumption to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“President Buhari was on vacation from February 5th, 2016 to February 10th, 2016.”
