For the third time since the presidential elections, President
Goodluck Jonathan and President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, met again in
private.
The pair reportedly met behind closed doors on Wednesday night inside the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Just like the first meeting they had, Wednesday’s private sit-down was not opened to members of the press.
Buhari reportedly arrived at about 9pm for the meeting that lasted less than 30 minutes.
In spite of the fact that no official statement was released after
the meeting, the discussions are believed to have centered around the
ongoing transition programmes and the inauguration on May 29.
Even the Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives
Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Mallam Garba Shehu, was not
privy to what was discussed in the meeting.
He said: “I heard there was a meeting but I have no idea where or when it held or what was discussed.”
