A peaceful protest by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in
Aba, Abia State, reportedly turned violent as security agents and
members of the group reportedly confronted one another.
An eyewitness, Chris, who took the pictures at No 1 Ngwa road
junction, Aba, said the protesters seem to have set a traffic post on
fire and are currently barricading the area and setting tires and stuffs
ablaze.
Another online report stated that "Soldiers of the 144
Battalion of the Nigerian Army reportedly opened fire on members of the
Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) during a protest in Aba, Abia State
and shot a man dead."
