New Mobile Networks Set to Debut in March to Rival MTN, GLO, Others

Chairman of the Natcom Development & Investment Limited, Olatunde Ayeni has said that new telecommunication lines would debut in three major cities in Nigeria, as the company concludes plan to venture into the market by March this year.
 
The Natcom boss said the three pilot cities are Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, which the telecom giants would be launched, after its acquisition of the defunct Nigeria Telecommunication (NITEL) and Mobile Telecommunication (MTEL) through privatization process.
 
This was disclosed during a meeting with the House of Representatives joint committees on communication as well as that of commercialization and privatization in the Abuja.
 
Ayeni told the committees that the sum of $1 billion has so far been injected into the revival of NITEL and its sister company, Mtel acquired by NATCOM under guided liquidation.
